Blennerhassett Estate Gardens and Grounds Tour

May 21, 2022 @ 12:45 pm - 1:45 pm

“Blennerhassett Estate Gardens and Grounds” program is an outdoor tour. Besides its beautiful island Mansion, what was the Blennerhassett Estate really like? During this program of the grounds, participants will learn what gardens and other period buildings existed as a part of the Blennerhassett Estate in 1806 based on historical findings. This unique program begins at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022 on Blennerhassett Island.

This program begins with a first-person presentation by “Mr. Peter Taylor,” the Blennerhassett English gardener. The Estate’s Pleasure Garden was 2-1/2 acres in size. What did it include? Details and features of this Pleasure Garden as well as the Kitchen Garden and the Orchard will be shared.

A program handout along with garden renderings is part of the experience. There is a fee to attend this one-hour program of $5.00 for adults. It is a rain or shine event. Mansion porches/picnic shelter will be used if it rains. At tour stop sites, there will be chairs available. This educational event has been developed and conducted by Dick and Martha Hartley, Blennerhassett Volunteer Educators.

Call the Park’s Museum at 304-420-4800 if you have questions.
